Dr. Genevieve Pearl Duncan Obuobi is an astute retail banker and consultant with nearly two decades of experience in retail banking and branch management from two leading banks in Ghana. Starting her career at GCB Limited in 2004, she has honed her expertise in managing high-net-worth clients, small businesses, and youth accounts. With over 5 years' experience as a corporate trainer and SME consultant, Dr. Obuobi exudes great passion for empowering women-led businesses through gender financing, customer experience, leadership, and business growth strategies. She is a lead consultant at Tarragon Edge Limited and CEO of Genevieve Pearl Consults, driving sustainable development for businesses.
With a doctorate in Business Administration from the Swiss Business School, Zirich, an EMBA in Marketing from the University of Ghana, and a degree in Administration from GIMPA, Ghana, Dr. Obuobi has supplemented her education with management certifications from institutions such as Harvard Business School, USA, Cranfield Management Institute, the UK and Europe International Business School (CEIBS), China. Her leadership has earned her multiple awards in banking excellence and women empowerment. She is an esteemed Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance USA and a member of the Retail Banking Academy, UK.
Beyond her consulting and banking expertise, Dr. Obuobi is a prolific writer and thought leader. She is a columnist in the Business & Financial Times, Ghana and has numerous articles to her credit, some of which are Poverty Reduction in Africa–Are SME’s the needed catalyst? The Law of Association, Conquering Self: A leader’s First Challenge, The Leader and Preparation, etc. She has also contributed to a few academic journals with special mention of Corporate Management Ecosystem in Emerging Economies -Global Perspectives by Fred A. Yamoah, Adnan ul Haque, et al. She is the author of the books “The Jigsaw Effect of Leaders” and the “Diary of a Branch Manager”, as well as a co-author to a book written by 18 African women in businesses and leadership, “My Africa, My Identity” by Every Day Heroes, and “Who Moved My Heels”.
